Message from Vicar

Fr. Joby, Vicar

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

“Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” (Mt 8:25)

We are traveling towards Heavenly Jerusalem. As we journey, life here on earth is not always a bed of roses. We often struggle with emotional, social, physical challenges and experience pain along the way. At times we are happy but soon sorrow overcomes. For all of us our emotional struggles are much more painful than physical pain we endure. We struggle with addictions, negative emotions and unfulfilled needs of life and feel there is no end to miseries. Despite this, we know we have a God who is all powerful and in control of everything. Jesus says I am the Alpha and Omega. He is the beginning and end. Without him nobody can enter in the Kingdom. He is with us to calm the sea down. He may be sleeping but we have to persevere and wake him up. Psalms 46:1-3 says "God is my refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress. Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken and mountains quake to the depths of the sea, though its water rage and form and mountains totter at its surging.

"I welcome everyone to our Infant Jesus fellowship. This is a mission moving towards becoming the first parish in the name of Infant Jesus in the Syro Malabar Diocese of Chicago. I must congratulate and thank all the priests who worked before me, the people who supported in various ways to raise funds for this purpose and all the benefactors. I want to specially thank all parishioners, though very few in number, doing His mission, helping in every possible way towards working of the parish.

We are seeking to establish a church structure. We need your support monetarily to make a dwelling place for Infant Jesus. Please support us with all you can to help acquire or build a church of our own. Jesus will value all your efforts.

Blessings from Infant Jesus,
Fr. Joby Joseph (Jobiachan)
